A Sample of Esmese

Dave and I thoroughly enjoy our front row seat to Esme's language development. Here's a little taste. (We especially love her male possessive pronoun "hims," which can also mean "he is.")

Last night I came across this post from Esme's baby days and showed it to her.

Mommy: Esme, who's this?

Esme: Gam.

Mommy: No...

Esme: (After another look) I can't member hims name.

Mommy: That's Esme.

Esme: Yeah, dats Esme I was borned!

Mommy: Yes, that's you after you were born, when you were just a little baby.

(And I might have added, "A very bald baby!")
