In the stream in which I swim, there is a goodly amount of emphasis on home beautification, which I believe has its place. And I have many friends who have given their houses stunning character or made them unique, warm and welcoming.
As for myself, when I saw this quote, I laughed out loud with "that's me" recognition: “I would be most content if my children grew up to be the kind of people who think decorating consists mostly of building enough bookshelves.”
