The Beach at Holland State Park

On the third leg of the Wild Wilcox Midwest Tour we visited Dave's hometown, Holland, Michigan. We try to take the kids to the beach whenever we're there, and this year I actually remembered to get some pictures! Glory!

These first two crack me up. My bad for making the kids face into the sun.

I feel like in that second one they look like they're imitating a movie poster pose or something. Maybe it's just me.

It was only in the low 70's when we arrived that morning, and the sign said the water was 68 degrees cold. Graham's not a big one for swimming anyway, but he loved wading and playing in the wet sand.

Meg and Matthew were undaunted by the cold and went way out. I love that they can do this in the mild currents of midsummer Lake Michigan, unlike when we go to the beaches of the Outer Banks, NC.

My Esme did a good bit of splashing around...

Esme and Matthew and I went for a walk and collected many gull feathers. When we got back to the shoreline, this sweet little family was paying a visit to the beach goers, and making quite the stir!

Aaaaaaand... a classic Esme pout in closing.

"Can't we just stay in Holland forever?"
